    Abstract: This data was collected under contract by the WVU NRAC for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. The complete data was collected from November 7, 2010 to March 29, 2011.  The collection flight was flown at approximately 5,000-ft AGL at an average speed of 135 knots. LiDAR data was collected with the following parameters: Pulse Rate Frequency of 70k PRF; Scan Frequency of 35 Hz; Scan Angle of 36 (full field of view). WVU NRAC post-processed the data and a ground model was derived from the LiDAR dataset. The deliverables include: (1) Comprehensive LiDAR LAS 1.2 (.las) files, (2) Bare Earth LiDAR LAS 1.2 (.las) filesm, (3) Tiling Scheme Shapefile pertinent to Fall2011 deliverable (.shp) and (4) reports. This metadata file refers to all deliverables. WVU NRAC is actively acquiring LiDAR terrain data using the Optech ALTM 3100, which can fire up to 100,000 laser pulses per second. The positional accuracy of these laser returns are within 15 centimeters in the vertical axis, with at least one laser shot placed every square meter and providing up to four vertical returns. The sensors are mounted in a Piper Navajo twin engine aircraft that is housed at the Upshur County Municipal Airport. LiDAR combines three different technologies to produce laser terrain mapping: GPS, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) compensation, and laser ranging. The laser data is then processed with the GPS and IMU data to produce highly accurate and precise terrain mapping that can be used for environmental, municipal, engineering, and planning applications.
    Purpose: This data was collected and processed by the WVU NRAC for West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection with mutually agreed upon parameters.
